Sculos says he hasn’t felt pressure to have the lounge open in time for the upcoming NFL postseason, but it’s easy to imagine the area packed to capacity for a Patriots playoff game, with hundreds of fans anxious to bet on the outcome. Ready for the swarm of sports fans from across New England who might soon congregate there to watch sports on 102 television monitors, gulp beer, chew bar food and place wagers at the betting window located at the front of the room. With barely a week until the lounge is set to open, Sculos is tired, excited and, naturally, nervous that someone might scuff the freshly coated floor. “I’m having these twitches,” Craig Sculos says, looking out at what will soon be a 3,600-square-foot sports lounge, bar and grill in Lincoln, R.I.Ī man is strolling across the room, and Sculos, the vice president and general manager of Twin River Casino, isn’t sure he’s supposed to be there.
